Welcome to the Journal of Cambodian Health

This edition proudly showcases two seminal pieces that underscore the critical roles of health professional education and evidence-based practice in enhancing healthcare outcomes, particularly for vulnerable groups. Our first featured article by Ryan-Burke et al. (2021) delves into nursing students' experiences within their academic programs. The study reveals how positive educational experiences are crucial in fostering the development of a solid professional identity and solidifying commitment to the health disciplines. In our second highlight, Henley et al. (2021) examine the implementation of evidence-based practices in Cambodia. Their research underscores the challenges and complexities of improving health and social outcomes in a landscape often fragmented by diverse stakeholder agendas. This piece emphasizes the necessity for robust, evidence-backed frameworks to navigate and unify these efforts for the greater good. Both articles contribute pivotal insights into the factors influencing effective health intervention and education in Cambodia. We invite our readers to explore these insights and consider their implications for practice and policy in similar contexts.
